Things I Found in America
I am refocussing this newsletter in 2026...
👋 Howdy. This is a free weekly edition of the Found in America newsletter, which hits your inbox weekly. Share it with your friends if you think they might enjoy it!
A consistent theme is emerging in my direct messages, from Americans asking me: why would I want to go to America, now?
Sure enough, whatever side of the political isle you fall on, there is rancor at the moment - and that would be putting it mildly!
However, despite this, I am doubling down, and refocusing this newsletter as my American travel diaries and a brand new name and URL (foundinamerica.co).
Why?
Well, despite everything, I still find so much to love about America that, sometimes, locals don’t always see.
And I don’t do it for politics. I do, do it for the super friendly American people who invite me in to their homes and invite me to eat food with them. I do it for the most incredible natural beauty I’ve seen anywhere in the world. I do it for vastly different cultures, foods and sensibilities you find between states. I do it for the vibrant cities. I do it for all of you, my viewers, who constantly give me great tips on things to do, places to see, and eat, on my American adventures.
Recommendations:
Every week, I’ll be sharing my top Amazon product recommendations with you. This week, I’m sharing a Scotland football top to get ready for the World Cup, an excellent thermal flask, and totally unironically, an ice maker!
*I am an Amazon affiliate, meaning if you use my links to make your regular Amazon purchases, I’ll receive a small commission at no cost to you - a great way to support my work!
A new Facebook page
It’s fair to say, I found America in a time in my life where I didn’t know what I was doing. You could say, indeed I was also Found in America.
In other news, I’ve launched a brand new Facebook page dedicated to my US travels, and I’d absolutely love to see you over there. Follow me on Shaun from Scotland on FB!

For this week’s big share, I’m sending my latest YouTube vlog, directly from the incredible Rock Spring in Florida (best watched on your Smart TV).
At just three dollars to enter, it might be the best value for money I think I’ve ever spent in the States, considering how great it was. And we even got to swim right next to otters!
That’s it for this week. I will be sending this newsletter on Mondays, and perhaps more. I also have my Dreaming of Scotland newsletter, for those who are interested in my home country.
Shaun
